Jeff cruises to pool win
Jeff Wener has cruised to the pool victory, secured by Colorado's win but built by a record score over four rounds. Jeff wins with 235 points, one more than second-place finisher Colby Foster (234), who had been locked in behind Jeff for all of the final round. Zack O'Gorman, who would have won had Tampa lifted the trophy, finishes third with 221 points despite not getting the Cup bonus. Christina Laronga and Ava McAdam-Beder were lifted into fourth and fifth with the Avs bonus, a great finish just outside the podium. Congrats to all!

Champs defeated, long live the champs! 6/27/2022 7:40:00 AM
To be the champs, you have to beat the champs. Colorado has finally fulfilled its promise after defeating two-time champion Tampa Bay in Game 6. The Avs were the top-picked team in the pool each of the past three years, only to watch the Lightning win the last two. On Sunday they went to Tampa Bay and took care of business, winning the Stanley Cup. With 103 correct Cup picks, Colorado is the first #1-ranked team to win since Detroit in 2008.

Jeff and Colby break 200-point barrier 6/20/2022 5:35:00 AM
Six points for Jeff Wener and Colby Foster in Game 2 have made them the first two poolies ever to reach 200 points in Lord Stanley's Pool. After tying Joy Smith's pool record 193 points at the end of round 3 it was only a matter of time in this high-scoring playoff season. We are likely to see five to ten more entries reach the 200-mark by the end of the finals.

Kuemper shutout just a small redemption 6/19/2022 5:30:00 AM
Colorado's two wins at home were punctuated by Darcy Kuemper's shutout. Kuemper's 70 picks are second only to Jacob Markstrom's 93 and a finals run should have put these picks into the running, but for the goalie's mid-playoff injury. Leading among Kuemper's picks are Tyler Robinson and Ronan Walsh, currently 17th and 18th.

Classic Cup Showdown 6/14/2022 10:17:00 PM
With Colorado, the pool's top team and heir apparent for the past few years, facing off against Tampa Bay, vying for the first three-peat since the early 80's, the Stanley Cup Finals look to be a series for the ages. The pool outcome will ride on which team wins. Check out how the contenders stack up for the final round, projected scores and more in the Round 3 analysis.

Jeff takes back the lead - and ties all time pool scoring record 6/11/2022 11:50:00 PM
Jeff Wener has leapfrogged back into first place after Tampa's game 6 victory, with 193 points - matching the all-time pool high score. With a full round to go, and six players still active in the final, Jeff looks to easily break the 200-point barrier on the way to setting the new standard. Jeff looks primed for victory if Colorado wins the Cup - but watch out for ZAI Hammerman and Zack O'Gorman if Tampa three-peats.

Final round odds on the line for these contenders 6/11/2022 1:39:00 PM
The outcome of the Lightning-Rangers series will be a pivotal moment in determining the pool's contenders in the final round. A Tampa Bay win in game 6 or 7 will set up current leader Jeff Wener and second-place Colby Foster with strong six players from Colorado and Tampa and picking the Avs to win. Zack O'Gorman would also benefit from a Tampa win and could challenge if the Bolts win the Cup. Meanwhile a Rangers comeback, winning games 6 and 7, would give the edge to Hugh McShane and Rishi Mistry with Ava McAdam-Beder and Bruce Bird challenging with a full six players. John Thompson and Christina Laronga (10th place) still have nine players, three each from the Rangers and Tampa collecting points this round, and have a shot to reach the podium with six players in the final.

Oilers leak out 6/7/2022 11:03:00 AM
Edmonton's high powered offence was pacing the pool, but after sputtering out in round 3, their elimination gives a last chance for others - namely the many Colorado pickers - to climb back up the standings. Connor McDavid (33 pts, 114 picks) and Leon Draisaitl (32 pts, 78 picks) will surely be on the Dream Team so the big winners will be those who picked both Edmonton and Colorado players in the West.

Leaderboard musical chairs 6/7/2022 10:55:00 AM
While there is not much movement up and down the standings in round three, there is only uncertainty at the top of the leaderboard. Hugh McShane has spent much of round 3 with a narrow lead but Jeff Wener and ZAI Hammerman have each taken multiple turns at number one with the leader changing now almost daily. Rishi Mistry and Colby Foster are also bouncing around the top five.

Rangers power leader flip as round 2 ends 5/31/2022 6:33:00 AM
ZAI Hammerman and Hugh McShane have jumped into the lead on the final night of round 2, relegating Jeff Wener to third after leading for almost a week. ZAI and Hugh's Rangers, including Adam Fox, Mika Zibanejad (ZAI) and Igor Shesterkin (Hugh) pushed them to first with a record-after-round-2 144 points. First-round-record holder Stacey Hartley hangs on to fourth with Rishi Mistry climbing to fifth.

Calgary, Florida knockouts hit 858 picks 5/27/2022 6:20:00 AM
With Connor McDavid playing like no one before and Tampa Bay looking unstoppable, the second and third-ranked teams are now toast. Calgary's 469 picks were well served by Johnny Goudreau (14 pts, 172 picks), Jacob Markstrom (11, 93), and Matthew Tkachuk (10, 134). Not so much for Florida's 389 including Jonathan Huberdeau (5, 149) and Aleksander Barkov (7, 106).

Jeff Wener takes the lead 5/24/2022 3:09:00 AM
Jeff Wener has taken over the top spot in the pool, displacing Stacey Hartley after two weeks in first. Jeff finished round one in 19th place and has climbed thanks to 52 round two points.. Colby Foster (72nd to 3rd) also has 52 points this round.

Oilers slicking up the standings 5/21/2022 10:23:00 AM
High scoring by Connor McDavid (114 picks) and Leon Draisaitl (78), six points each over the last two games, are helping new names appear on the leaderboard. Jeff Wener has risen from 19th into the top 5 after four days of round two. Colby Foster has leaped from 72nd to 8th. The Oilers duo has also kept Stacey Hartley in first place for now.
